Then and now!!!

Here he is at Eighteen weeks and a hefty 43 pounds!! As you can tell he was much easier to hold back when he was 10 pounds. He continues his obedience training and is doing very well. He still likes to act agressive towards cars but has really calmed his act down as he is learning a stretched neck is not worth it. Gus still has plenty of puppy left in him and continues to socialize in many areas. He is almost through his teething process which seemed to give him more problems than any other dog I have owned.

Gus unloading and ready to work

Here he is using his doggie ramp. He enjoyed the challenge at first but now I think he would prefer to jump up in the car. I will hold off for quite awhile as too much jumping is not good on his hips. I will be glad to put this thing away as it is a pain in the rear. Someday, and hopefully a very long time from now he will need it again when he gets too old to jump in.

Taking a break on the bench at four months old

Congrats are in order. Not only has Gus made it to four months old but we have also!! It is nice to have all his shots finished with the exception of kennel cough so he shouldn't be catching anything. He is now 37 pounds and his ears (and him) are still looking good. (phew) The picture sure makes his head look huge for his body but it is more angle of the camera. He is still a wild and crazy pup but is now doing heeling, sitting, down, come and auto sits not only by verbal commands but also hand signals! Doing it pretty darn good I might add. Of course, I might be blinded by love just a little bit. LOL I could train him much faster but really want to keep his drive and confidence as high as I possibly can. Take the leash off and we still have our little devil dog trying to break us down.

Splish, Splash, I got my first bath!!!!

Here is our little boy at four months getting his first bath. He was very lucky as it has rained so much since we brought him home that he stayed clean and had no smell until now. I would rate this new adventure as 50/50. Gus wasn't thrilled with the bath but didn't put up a tremendous fight either. However, much to Gus's approval his master got pretty wet in the process.

NOW THAT'S WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!

What a relief, for all three of us. Gus now has his "MOJO" back!!!! This pretty boy is looking good, don't you think? We were very scared, as after the first time we taped the right ear didn't set very well, so we had to do it a second time. Gus also wanted me to send out a special thanks to Christina Meacham of vom Blaurasen Rottweilers for a very informative article on taping ears and him being able to retain his manhood. ...For now!!! LOL
