Pretty Boy

Here our boy is taking it easy before New Year's Eve tomorrow. He is learning to watch football bowl games and IU basketball. Although when things go bad in IU BB (which is quite often these days) and dad starts yelling, he heads to his rug and favorite chew toy to escape the commotion.

Gus also got his last kennel cough shot today and hopefully is through with visits with his vet for awhile, although…it does lead to good training exercises and socializing. He weighed in at 50 pounds and if I do say so myself I think he is looking as good as he could possibly look at this point. I feed him Eagle Pack Holistic Food for Large Breed Puppies and he does very well on it. Look how shiny his coat is......just perfect. It is not cheap but when you see these results it is well worth it.

Poor Gus...the good news for him is on New Year’s Day he gets canned food in his kibble for the day, which he loves. The bad news is he goes from three feedings a day to two. He will get the same amount of food but as much as he loves to eat he will miss his lunch time.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas. I am, or was until dad pulled out this stupid hat. He said the grief I cause is the grief I get. What he doesn't understand is if you get caught wearing something like this in our neighborhood,  you better be a door man!! I will have to fight my way home if the goldens down the road see me in this. I did get a huge edible bone and dad is adding can dog food to my kibble.....but he says only for the day. Too bad, that stuff is tasty.

I won the pad, I am keeping it!!!

Here our boy is "protecting" his bite pad after a tug of war session. He still is having lots of pain with his teething which I thought was over but is not. His ears lay good one day and go crazy the next which is due to teething. He has just had a horrible time with this. I think he is doing this to drive me crazy. Give the little guy his due as it is working. Every time I get the tape out the ears go back to where they belong. Things are not so good as we continue training. He is without doubt the smartest Rott I have ever owned,  which is saying a bunch, as I have had some great ones. However, he is also the most stubborn, and at the same time a little nervous. I have always had problems training dogs that were stubborn, smart and skittish at the same time. In no way am I giving up as I still think I have a good dog but as I said in an earlier blog I get really nervous with all of them at this age as I am always seeking and expecting a great dog. At twenty-two weeks there are lots of questions.

Gus having some fun in the snow. The little guy loves seeing how much he can eat while running around.

Geez, I thought Indiana would be much warmer than MN!!!

Here is a pic of me looking good with the ears where they should be. I am now a whopping 49 pounds and 20 weeks old and still growing like a weed. Dad is still cracking the whip on me and making me mind all the time which disgusts me but overall he and mom are pretty good and treat and feed me well. By the way, do not forget that you can click on any picture to enlarge it to see how pretty I am!!  LOL

Mom and dad think this photo is funny now that my ears are ok!! This is my first snow and I can not help the wind is blowing 35mph+!! Even though I am from MN this is some cold weather now that I am a house dog.  I have to admit that once I do my business I am ready to come back in the house.....PRONTO!!
