Gus sees his shadow in February

Gus is out enjoying a nice sunny day as most of our snow has melted, for now! Too bad melted snow means mud as it cuts down on our walks. He looks awful skinny in this photo.

Hi all, thought we would blog on the newest addition to our family...Gus. Dogs have been a major part of my life. As a youngster I trained and hunted with several beagles moving my way into duck hunting and field trialing Labradors and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. That is when I met my future wife who worked at the veterinarian where I took my dogs. That was over twenty-five years ago. I also had my first rottweiler when we met and have had several more over the years. After putting my last rott to sleep in April we have been without a dog for the first time in nearly forty years!! After a long search we think and hope we have found our next dog who we already have named Gus. At this point he is three weeks old and in five more we will have our next spoiled rotten bundle of joy.
