Lets keep this party going!!!!!!

Gus was just getting warmed up when I put the stop to the fun.The water is still awful cold and he doesn't need to over do it the first time out  of the gate. He had a good time while it lasted.

Gus Officially Calls it Spring!!!

Away we go!!! After driving me nuts while putting in the pier I decided I would see if ol Gus liked cold water. He did....and then some.  He was loving every second of this and really never wanted to stop. I have a feeling it will be an enjoyable summer for our spoiled brat.

It's Been A Long Winter

Gus is sick of winter and watching me put in our piers. I finally gave up lettimg him watch me from the house as his whining and barking were driving me nuts!! He was much happier getting in my way as I worked!!!!!!

King of the Woods

I think this dog is so dang pretty.....but......he is so small for a Rott. He is proportioned perfectly but lacks about two inches of height and fifteen pounds of being a really great dog. Oh well. I will take the little guy as he is and hope for good hips and his continued good health. He might be undersized but his heart isn't. When anything happens around the house Gus is up and ready to protect and with doing minimal sleeve work with him I have no doubt he will protect us with his life. While he does not really want to do as his mom says you can tell that he will protect her with more aggression and tenacity than with me. What a handful and joy he is!



Caged in and no place to go

Here is one more way to try and keep Gus's hair in one place. The friggin' mutt has more hair coming out of him than any dog I know! LOL It also keeps the little guy from licking me in the ear going down the road. The mat is a little slick for Gus's liking so he lays more than he used to but that is good for him.                  



Don't be stupid, this ball is mine!

The title is no joke as Gus is a very selfish brat. He loves to chase that big ball and has managed to puncture the sucker as well. I will take the time to bore you with a couple of other stupid pet tricks. He loves to "sing" whenever he hears "Marry Me" by Train or Rhiana's new song. He is funny as crap as he really howls up a storm. The other trick is I can spray his rug with Febreze and the little sucker will roll around in it and come out smelling quite good. Every dog I have ever owned has only wanted to roll in something dead and quite smelly!!! LOL Lets hope ol Gus keeps on wanting to smell like a pretty boy!!!!! 

Bath and dental hygiene time

I know what everyone is thinking. Ol' Gus is spoiled rotten by having his own tub. The truth is I am spoiling myself as it sure saves wear and tear on my back. He climbs right in but I can't say he loves bathing but sure does not mind them. It is about the same with his tooth care. I think I hate doing that more than him! All of my Rotts have had terrible plaque problems and while brushing seems to help there is still some showing.



King of the "Snow" Hill

Gus is out enjoying the blizzard of 2011. He loves to "help" me while I shovel us out of the fresh foot of snow we received. It usually adds fifteen minutes to any job I do!

Here is our boy on top of a drift! He is such a ham and he enjoyed getting up there and giving me a photo op. He is now one and a half years old! Still a very ornery, annimated, stubborn, full of energy delightful dog to own. We wouldn't trade him off for anything now. (well maybe we would  LOL)  I wish I could tell you his weight but from here on out he will have to get weighed at the vet as it is too big of pain to do it on bathroom scales. His coat and skin are getting much better thanks to the salmon oil. It smells but I imagine that is why he loves it so much. For some reason and I suspect the furnace and dry air caused his coat and skin to dry out. He was non stop shedding but as I said he is looking good again thanks to the oil.



The Christmas Elf

Gus was hoping I had forgot about this hat.It fits him a little tighter this year. So far today he has had two long walks and a can of dog food mixed with his dry kibble. Not a bad way to spend Christmas, is it? We hope everyone is having a very Merry Christmas!!!!



Polar Plunge

Gus seems right at home in the snow, again!! He is going nuts and wants to play so bad.but his dad hates the cold weather.

This goofy dog must have missed the snow as he rolls around like it is a hot summer day. He then takes off and wants me to chase him.........right!!!!  Gus is doing quite well other than a very dry coat. I am getting some salmon oil and hoping it does the trick.
